Tampa
Editor's Rating - 3 Stars
Tampa may sprawl into the second biggest metropolitan area in Florida, but the city also boasts many attractions, parks, museums and stylish restaurants. At the center of downtown, the remodeled Riverwalk running along the Hillsborough River sparkles with modern architecture and lush and verdant green spaces. And with a aquarium, zoo and world-renowned theme-park, families can enjoy lots of great entertainment. If you're around in the evening be sure to stroll down Ybor City's streets; these become alive with a busy bar and club scene.
Editor's Top Tip
The HART city bus system will take you just about everywhere you want to go. For example bus 8 from Channelside to Ybor is an easy way to get to the Ybor State Museum from the cruise port.

Things To See
Florida Aquarium
Both young and old will wonder at the large amount of sea life on show at the Florida Aquarium. Exhibits include No Bone Zone, Dragons Down Under, Explore A Shore, Wetlands and Aquariumania. Extra activities are available like Wild Dophin Ecotour and Swim with Fish. The Aquarium is positioned adjacent to cruise terminal 3.

Tampa’s Riverwalk
Experience the main highlights of the city and panoramic views across the Hillsborough river by walking the newly opened Tampa Riverwalk. As the path hugs the riverside it passes a whole host of features including The Florida Aquarium, American Victory Ship, Cruise Ship Terminal 2, Tampa Bay History Center, Cotanchobee Park, Teco Line Streetcar, USF Park, MacDill Park, Florida Museum Of Photographic Arts, Kiley Gardens, Glazier's Children’s Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art.
Henry B Plant Museum
Henry B Plant built the majestic Tampa Bay hotel as a destination for visitors to Tampa. It’s lavishly made in a similar style to a Arabian palace, with added touches of Victorian design. Today the hotel building is taken up by the University of Tampa, but it also houses the well worthwhile Henry B Plant Museum, which chronicles the life and times of the famed railroad magnate.
Ybor City State Museum
Cuban-styled Ybor City is one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida. Ybor City’s red-brick houses, iron balustrades and narrow alleys offer an insight into 19th century history. Drop in at a bar with flamenco dancing, or purchase a hand-made cigar at a shop. Take the original Teco Streetcar from Cumberland Avenue, York Street, or Port Authority stops taking you to Ybor city.
Busch Gardens Theme Park
At Busch Gardens you can take in a show with live perfomers, experience up-close meetings with uncommon animals, frighten yourself on crazy roller coasters and go on an unforgettable safari crossing the magnificent Serengeti plains. Busch Gardens is located 8 miles north of the cruise terminals.
